        1948年出生的拉尔夫•乔治和1949年出生的汉斯•保罗,分别出生于法国里昂的两个关系非常好的邻居家庭。从小学到高中,乔治和保罗就在同一所学校上学,且都一起结伴上下学、玩耍,他们的友情比亲兄弟还亲。直到1966年,乔治和保罗分别考取了两所不同的大学,才分开去寻求各自的人生道路以及梦想。乔治在大学期间非常认真、努力,主修经济管理学,并辅修品牌管理学,成绩都相当不错;保罗在校表现也优异,专攻设计学专业,在设计以及时尚审美领域,有着自己独特的见解和创新想法。


        毕业后两年,乔治和保罗均在法国巴黎,从事着自己专业所涉及的相关工作,工作待遇还算不赖。但是在繁忙的都市工作与生活,压力都比较大,有很多束缚,不能由衷地表达自己真实的观点,且特别枯燥乏味。1972年的一天,乔治和保罗在一次同学聚会上终于又重逢了,俩人相拥而泣,感慨万千,一起回忆美好的童年时光,相互寒暄各自的生活、事业以及梦想。


        有一天,像往常一样工作的乔治,看到一份关于法国经济的分析报告。报告称法国正进行一次经济体制的改革,以权归市镇所有的公共企业私有化改革为重点。乔治结合自己从事经济方面工作的经验,觉得这是一个非常好的市场契机。第二天,乔治和保罗在聊天时,提及了这一点,没想到保罗突然间兴奋了起来。因为保罗要开创时尚品牌公司的想法,在心里已经酝酿了很久,一直在等一个时机。而当乔治得知保罗的想法后,非常赞同和支持他的想法。俩人经过很长时间的市场数据、行业、国际政策以及品牌等的分析与研究,一致决定从美妆行业入手,打造出富有创新思想的品牌。乔治和保罗辞掉工作后,并认真着手准备美妆品牌的开创工作。1975年2月3日,以“乔治保罗”为名的美妆品牌正式在法国巴黎成立。
